300 Years celebration Capability Brown - Childrens Garden Design Competition

The County Show is hosting this Childrens Garden Design Competition. Schools and individuals are being invited to submit group and individual entries to design their dream garden using any media. There are prizes for 2-D and 3-D designs in three age categories. This is open to anyone up to school year 11 (under 16), entries close 30th April 2016.
The fast and furious Shetland Grand National to the Main Arena in 2016, The Sheep Show, Ben Potter with his Eagles and Vultures, Pigs, Ridden Heavy Horses, Parade of Farming/Tractors Through the Ages.
With agriculture firmly at the heart of the Northumberland County Show we are proud to showcase some of the finest livestock in the country with sections for cattle, sheep, horses, alpacas and goats as well as the ever popular rabbits and cavies and a marquee packed with poultry of many varieties. The competitive day culminates in the Grand Parade of livestock in the main area where the coveted Champion of Champions title is awarded. The competitions aren’t all about livestock – we have our own ‘bake off’ classes in the Competitive Home Crafts marquee, Cumberland & Westmorland wrestling, one of the biggest stick dressing competitions in the country and lots of huffing and puffing in the tug of war and Britains Strong Man team Challenge.
As one of the largest one day shows in the country we are a shop window for trade stands of all descriptions offering everything from ‘cakes to combines!’ We have a commitment to supporting local businesses are proud to promote the best of Northumberland.
With over 350 trade stands to browse, delicous food hall, dedicated fun family and childrens area, also an outstanding selection of catering stands, street food, food outlets and beer tents - the day provides a great venue for people from all walks of life to meet and enjoy a glimpse into rural life. Add to that packed programmes of events in the Main arena and Castle arenas and the scene is set for the 2016 Northumberland County Show, truly a great day out.
